DONE!

Did 20 posts, along with Mr. Paynter, tonight as we exercised our blog fingers together trying to get back in shape. Of course Frank cheated, so the race was called due to mud. Or else I won. We're leaving the tapes for the judges to review.

I look forward to a blog spasm in a day or so. All you have to do is find me in chat, say 20 in 20? or 30 in 30? or 10 in 10? READY SET GO! and off we go. If I'm not in the middle of something, like pouring boric acid in my pink eye.

I've never gotten it down to a minute per post, but I also haven't done this in years. Back in the day, we didn't enjoy the vast amount of USER GENERATED CONTENT we have today with flickr's blogthis and youtube's embed that. Makes it a bit easier to breeze through the posts.

Remember when we used to have posting marathons--24 hour marathons for this cause or that, or just because?

Too old now. Enjoy my bedtime too much. ;-)

franks got a recipe beggin to be beaten and eaten

first person who runs over here to make it gets to stir in the egg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For dinner tonight I made a delicious soup. It was amazingly simple. Most of the ingredients came straight of our CSA share, and the recipe came from the Blue Moon weekly newsletter. Thanks Kristen!
The recipe…

    Ingredients:
  • 1 large celeriac, peeled, cut into quarters and sliced thin. (Ever wonder what to do with that celeriac? This is it!)
  • 3 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup carrot coins
  • 1 leek, sliced into thin rounds. (Okay, I had small leeks so I used two, but I had huge garlic cloves so I only used one. I finally learned the thing about cooking is that it’s no organic chemistry… doesn’t require an analytical balance to get the measurements right.)
  • 2 eggs
  • A couple of cups of chicken broth. Mine came from a can.
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • salt and pepper

Go see how it turned out--
mmmmm!

dr bombay, dr bombay, emergency, come right away

Congratulations to UBATMK trombonist, Frank Paynter, who has been given a key to the city, WAIT WAIT -- BETTER than that. A key to the UNIVERSITY!! OMG!

For He's a jolly good fellow of Sociology, ladies and gentlemen. Wish him well and buy him a pencil case.

Hey Frank, I might know of a case study or two you could start researching. I mean, just thinking out loud here.

Anyway, I hope you and Beth are out to dinner celebrating. Start shining up your library card.
