MOVIE TOO! dream a little dream of me
Click to watch mini-movie.
Jenna is the last on the right--the one who did SOOO good.
Dream A Little Dream of Me
Stars shining bright above you,
Night breezes seem to whisper, "I love you";
Birds singin' in the sycamore tree;
Dream a little dream of me...
Say "nighty-night" and kiss me,
Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me;
While I'm alone and blue as can be,
Dream a little dream of me...
Stars fading, but I linger on, dear,
Still craving your kiss;
I'm longing to linger til dawn, dear,
Just saying this:
Sweet dreams til sun beams find you,
Sweet dreams that leave our worries behind you;
But in your dreams, whatever they be,
Dream a little dream of me
Instrumental part.
Stars fading, but I linger on, dear,
Still craving your kiss;
I'm longing to linger til dawn dear,
Just saying this:
Sweet dreams til sun beams find you,
Sweet dreams that leave our worries far behind you;
But in your dreams, whatever they be,
Dream a little dream of me.

no writing
just exhaustion and anger. that's all. something about being let down. I just want to remember this feeling. so I'm putting it here. no more let downs. letting down. feeling let down. what does it mean? two odd words put together. not feeling down. feeling let down. a discernable difference. something about it not being my fault. who do I let down. my kid. so tired... baby I won't let you down. carry the world on my shoulders. and it's so heavy. there are others. letting me down. down.
how much is it not about feeling down, but feeling let down.
i dunno. i know i want to lay down. but i can't. because someone's bopping around getting ready for her dance recital dress rehersal. ought to go til 9.
i really miss sleeping.
every day I say today I'll take a nap. every day I have emails/work come in, calls, every day it's time to get jenna, or she's here so work goes on until midnight. every day i want to lay down, let down. every day i delay. makes me a little angrier. when do I get to let down?

techno-peasant help
Does anyone know what i have to do to get George's archives to show up? When you click on the archives index link in the sidebar, it takes you to a blank page that says: "template file not found: /opt/tomcat4/webapps/Blogger/templates/76/default_a.html". I have no idea how to rectify this. The archive page was there initially when I skinned his blog, but now it's not. advice????
thank you,
techno-pleeb.

poooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool
So I coughed up money I don't have and joined the pool at the subdivision behind ours. We've gone three times now. One and a half times we actually got to swim. Seems Jenna and I are human lightning rods, and whenever we get a tinsy bit close to the pool, the skies open up with a light show of magnificent proportions.
But yesterday we got to swim some, play sharks and minows, play Marco Polo, and all day I remember how very much I love the water. When I'm in the water, I don't see any reason why I should ever have to get out. The feeling amazes me anew every single time.
I imagine great channels of water running parallel to the highways and biways of Atlanta, more like water slides than roads, and I imagine going everywhere by scooting along my magical blue highway. I imagine towel stops instead of traffic lights. I see entrance ramps welcoming dozens of happy travelers onto my watery route.
It would solve traffic congestion, wouldn't it? Forget busses and MARTA. I want to lobby for great lanes of water, and inner tubes for all. Five months of the year, everyone would be more tan, more fit, more relaxed, if not a bit wet, in their comings and goings to work.
I imagine walking wet headed and sunburned into my next client meeting, ten minutes late, with a smile, saying "The current was against me today--sorry," and everyone understanding, them wet headed drinking bottled water, ruddy and beaming, "Yah, a wild ride today."
No more road rage, just giggles and tumbles and swirls as we float our way through the day.
And why not?

Uncle Monkey!
Elaine mentions on blog sisters that the Discovery channel has an evolution show on that tows the hardline evolution monkey-to-man theory. Bunch-o-Bunk. Enjoy it if you have cable. I get the picture from the pictures on the site. Too bad the Times article on the discovery in Ethiopia blows this theory out of the water. Too bad we've always been human. Ah well... who am I to say.
Everyone, PET A MONKEY TODAY! HE MAY BE YOUR LONG LOST UNCLE! Check out the site and see your relatives. Then be very proud that we have come so far. Wshew! Glad we're out of that nasty fur.
